Voya Get Glowing Mask

I have a long standing love of Voya, a seaweed based Irish beauty brand. So when Voya contacted me to see if I wanted to try out their new face mask my obvious answer was YES PLEASE!

I love clay masks and with this one designed to help dull tired skin it is right up my alley. Living in a city, not getting enough sleep and sometimes surviving on takeaway (don’t judge me) all takes it’s toll on my skin and some days I wake up and think WHAT HAPPENED, why are you so dull and grey skin? These are the days I reach for a good old face mask.

With Voya Get Glowing clay mask you spread it all over your face, leave it for 10 minutes and the rub it off, gently exfoliating as you go. It tingled a bit when I first put it on my skin and it really felt like all the lovely ingredients were working. It contains Patchouli for regeneration. rosemary to moisturise and seaweed to detoxify, hydrate and add glow.

Before using the mask however I like to cleanse my skin with my current favourite Cast Away by Voya. This cleanser was used on me during a facial a few months ago and I couldn’t leave the spa without one of my own. I had been having problems with breakouts and blackheads and this cleanser has worked miracles as it’s anti bacterial.

Living by the sea I adore any products produced by the sea or containing a lot of seaweed or sea based ingredients. Also I’m lucky enough to have a wonderful spa in my tiny village, The Well in The Cliff House Hotel, where they do a lot of Voya based treatments. My favourite being the Voya Organic illuminating facial. Anyone in the West Waterford area I definitely recommend you try it out!

Get Glowing Mask is available online and in selected stores and spas.

New Lush Haul!

Hello darlings! I know I’ve been a little absent for the last while, but what better way to get back into the swing of things than with a Lush haul?! So as many of you are aware Lush have launched 60 new products and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a few of them to try out. I spent over an hour sniffing round the store and settled on these few products to try out.

Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair: This shower gel has the same scent as my favourite Lush perfume Cocktail which is now not in production. It has the most heavenly scent of jasmine, rose and lavender. My absolute favourite of all the new products. Its as sophisticated and classy as a shower gel can be!

Beautiful: This is a real morning shower sort of shower gel. Its uplifting and refreshing. It has the most beautiful golden yellow colour with specks of glitter in it! Its fruity yet musky with hints of peaches and apricots.

Don’t Rain On My Parade: Its made from blueberry juice, my favourite fruit, what more needs to be said?!That combined with the vanilla and violet infusions makes for a comforting bewitching shower gel that is totally addictive. Once in the shower you really get to experience the violets and its woody undertones.

Salted Coconut: This is supposed to be a hand scrub but I have used this on my whole body, it smells far to delicious to keep only for my hands. As the name suggests it has a delicious coconut scent and the scrubs base is sea salt. It is they type of product that really sums up summertime and brings back lovely memories of being on holidays

93,000 Miles: If you haven’t tried a shower jelly from Lush go do it now. They are so much fun! Its literally like tipping a miniature jelly into your hands and using it to was your body. You can also keep it in the freezer for an extra lovely experience. This jelly is amazing if you have sore or tired muscles. It has peppermint and a strong cinnamon scent to it, which is right up my alley, those spicy scents are among  my favourites!

Cup O’ Coffee: I love a new face mask from Lush. And as much as I love their fresh face masks it’s great to have a second more long lasting mask along with Mask of Magnaminty. Obviously is has a strong coffee and is the perfect morning mask as it makes the skin brighter and more invigorated. I love this so much as I can’t stand the taste of coffee but love the smell!

The Rough With The Smooth: Lush’s scrub bars are actually amazing and with no packaging super good for the environment. I’m very loyal to Aqua Mirabillis but this smelt so good I couldn’t wait to give it a go! It has the same scent as Lord of Misrule which if anyone remembers is a limited edition Halloween bath bomb. It is a sugar based scrub which is sometimes not as harsh as salt scrubs if you have delicate skin!

I hope if you haven’t by now tried some of Lush’s new products you will drop what you’re doing and run to the nearest store. It can be a little overwhelming if you’re not very familiar with Lush. Just wander around sniffing every product until you find one you don’t want to put down! The staff are also among the friendliest and most helpful I have ever come across. If you haven’t tried any Lush products before check out my post on my Favourite Lush Products!

Irish Beauty Blog Awards

Last Thursday I attended the Irish Beauty Blog Awards. I was blown away when I was nominated for the Best New Blog award. Although I didn’t win it was incredible  to be a finalist and to go to such a lovely event. It was held in the famous Lilles Bordello. Inside there was a chocolate fountain, cupcake stands, the most delicious finger food, champagne and full of fabulous people wearing fashionable outfits. AND the goodie bags were AMAZING, full of fab beauty  products, I wore a dress by Needle and Thread and I LOVE it! This is the second event I have wore a Needle and Thread dress to, I think I found my new go to brand! I love how simple and sweet it is. I felt very pretty and Summery wearing it! And look at the beading on the shoulders, stunning!

Everyday Makeup Routine

Hello everyone! I haven’t done a beauty post here in aagges so I though why not show you all the make up products I use every day a . A typical day involves getting up early doing my make up then going to college until four and probably going for food, coffee or shopping after college, so I need my make up to last a looong time.

To start with I use a primer. My favourite at the moment is The Porefessional by Benefit cosmetics. The foundation I use at the moment may be my favourite ever YSL Fusion Foundation is light on the skin and lasts FOREVER! Then concealers. Under my eyes I use Bare Minerals Stroke of Light Eye Brightener and on imperfections I use Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. It’s like industrial strength concealer. For bronzer and highlighter I use Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar bronze and glow. This is truly an amazing product, expensive but worth it. My everyday eye-shadow palette is by Bobbi Brown. Unfortunatly it was this Christmas’s limited edition so it’s not still available. It was basically their warm eye shadow palatte with six neutral  shades with four matte shades and two metallic. On my brows I use a Mac duo thats not available anymore either! It has a shade for brows and then an under brow highlighter. Then over that I use Benefit Gimme Brow to thicken and keep my brows in place. The powder I use is Rimmel Stay Matte powder. Its a really good inexpensive powder. Then my blush pallette is by Hourglass. I got this before christmas and I havent wanted to looked at another blush since. There are three stunning shades. I did a more extensive review in my November Favourites  if you want to read more. Last steps are mascara, I’m using Bare Minerals Flawless Definition Mascara. Its a good mascara, not an amazing one though I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing it. The other Bare Minerals Mascara Lash Domination is better. And finally for lips I use Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter. It’s moisturising for during the day but has enough colour to transition to night.

Phew that was a lot. I never really thought about quiet how many products I use every single day! I love putting my make up on in the morning, it’s one of the things that gets me out of bed! I hope you enjoyed this post and maybe want to try out one or two of these products now! Until next time!

A Birthday at Patrick Guilbaud

Hello beautiful people! I hope none of you are hungry because spoiler alert, this post post is full of yummy food pics! It was my little brothers 21st birthday so my family and I went to Patrick Guilbaud to celebrate! Its the perfect restaurant for a special occasion. They food is exquisite, the decor is light and airy with modern Irish art on the walls.

From the moment we arrived our meal was made special with the best and most attentive service I have ever experienced. Whatever we needed was brought to us before we knew we wanted it. Everything we were served as well as tasting exquisite looked like a piece or art! I had Croquettes of Suckling Pig, Fried Quail Egg, Foie Gras, Pancetta,Red Pepper Mostardo to start then Fillet of Irish Beef and Roast Foie Gras, Madeira and Truffle Jus for main and Contemporary Dark Chocolate Tart, Tonka Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert! And although the food is as fancy as it sounds there was nothing stuffy about dining there, the atmosphere was relaxed and as there is only one sitting you can stay and enjoy the evening for as long as you want. If you have a special occasion coming up or just really want to treat yourself I highly recommend you take a trip to try it out!
