A Little Bit Of Nautical History

IMG_0749 IMG_0752 IMG_0775

Hello my darlings! We have another little outfit post today! Last week I went for a look around Kinsale and on my way home, stopped in Charlesfort which is an old army barracks. I would reccomend anyone in the area to go have a look around! It was so beautiful and a lovely place to wander around and as I had my camera with me I thought why not take some pics! I was wearing a cream dress by Mary Grant, navy anchor jumper from Jack Wills and shoes from Ugg.

I was obsessed with everything nautical this summer so I died and went to heaven when I saw the jumper in Jack Wills! Also how pretty are these little shoes?! I couldn’t believe it when I saw they were UGG! I though my UGG days were over but clearly not! I also bought the shoes in navy! The little bows on the back are adorable! I hope you all enjoyed this quick outfit post/life update! Peace and love Isabel! xxx

In Love With Pixy

I love trying out new beauty brands, and even better if they’re Irish! Pixy is a natural Irish beauty brand that started off on Dragons Den! I had tried out their bath bombs before but now I wanted to properly delve into the brand. I went to the Pixy shop in Cork and had a chat with the very friendly lady helped me pick out some products to try! If you want to see any of their products check out their website here!

1. Almond Milk Face Scrub

This is a nourishing gentle face scrub. The first thing I noticed was the almost overpowering scent of almonds, which I love but my mother found too strong. Its full of super ingredients like apricot oil, jojoba oil, buttermilk powder and yogurt powder. My face was so soft afterwards and smelled so yummy! A lot of my facial exfoliators are quiet harsh so it was nice to try something that was gentle and soothing for a change. Pixy also do a strawberry face scrub too which I’d love to try!

2. Glowing Body Butter

I absolutely adore this product. It has a divine jasmine scent and a whipped light as air texture. As soon as you put in on your skin in melts into it and if sinks into the skin beautifully. It feels like such a treat to apply. It’s supposed to give your skin a glow and while I’m not sure about that it does leaving your skin feeling soft, looking healthy and smelling beautiful. It’s also super nourishing and contains delicious sounding ingredients like shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil and apricot oil. I actually cant wait to use this up and buy another!

3. Lime Sorbet Shower Moose

This is such a lovely addition to any shower obsessives collection! Lime is by no means my favourite scent but I was looking for something to use in the morning to perk me up! Its lovely and refreshing and lathers up really easily. Also a little bit really goes a long way! I’d like to try this out in another scent like pineapple or coconut. And when this is all used up I still have a lovely container to fill with pretty things for my dresser! Win win!

4. Solid Foot Scrub

I don’t really pay my feet much attention. As long as they don’t smell and my shoes don’t hurt I tend to forget about them. When I saw the solid foot scrub I sort of guilted myself into picking it up to encourage me into giving my feet some much-needed attention! It does what is says on the tin, exfoliated and softened my feet. hopefully I’ll keep using this to get my poor soles back to tip-top condition!

5. Lime Body Scub Cubes

This is my favourite of all the Pixy products I tried. They are just fab! They come in a pack of six tied up with a gold bow! I used one all over my legs and body and I think I’ll get another three goes out of it so a pack of six will last ages. The top and sides of the cubes are exfoliating while the bottom is soft and buttery so you can exfoliate and soften at the same time. My skin feels like a dream after using them. They’re also advertised as a great fake tan remover. While I don’t use fake tan they might be worth trying out for those that do! I will 100% be getting more of these as soon as I run out!

What I Wore: Family Pizza Night

Jacket: Vintage from Mercury Retrograde, Dress: from Siopaella originally from Warehouse, Tights: H&M, Shoes: Kurt Geiger.

Hello darlings! Its time for another What I Wore! This was a very impromptu little photo shoot. My family and I were boating all afternoon and were all starving and too lazy to cook when we were finished! So a pizza night was the perfect solution. So without time to wash or dry my hair I go dressed and begged my boyfriend to take some pics! It was my first time wearing the vintage jacket from Mercury Retrograde and I was so happy with how it looks! The colour matches my dress perfectly!

We ate at an Italian I had never been to before called the Green Barn restaurant outside Youghal. It was delish. I had crab cakes to start which were lovely and a very big portion so I could share! The pizza was grand, not the best I have ever had but still yummy! It was such a lovely evening, I miss family time when I’m up in Dublin most of the year!

We were too stuffed to get dessert so My mother dropped my boyfriend and I in the Ardmore Village and we went for a little walk and had an ice cream before walking home across the beach. Bliss! I love when days turn out to be amazing without any planning or anything massive happening! Until next time my darlings! xxx

Cork City Shopping Guide

I love going shopping in Cork city. Its such a quirky beautiful place. I popped into Cork with my camera to do some shopping last week and though why not do a little shopping guide! Im also going to give an honorable mention to one of my oldest friends and fellow blogger Grace Mc Nulty from Style me G for taking me around to all the little boutiques last summer and really opening my eyes to what Cork as to offer! So here we are, a list of places I go in the city and also specifically the places I visited last time I was in Cork last week!

The English Market

The English Market is a wonderful place. Its a huge building full of different little food shops and on the upper level is an amazing restaurant called Farmgate. My favorite places to go here are: The chocolate shop, Iago the cheese-mongers and my absolute favorite is this little shop that sells yummy health food snacks and lovely beauty products from brands like Bia Beauty and Bomb Cosmetics.

Miss Daisy Blue

This is justifiably Corks most famous vintage store. Its a beautiful bright, charming shop with lovely friendly staff. I picked up two cardigans last week when I was in there and am so excited to start wearing them! There is such a huge amount of stock to look through but its all laid out so nicely it doesn’t t have that overcrowded cramped feeling that some vintage shops have. There are rails of brightly colored prom dresses that when you look at them you cant help but smile! Going into this shop whether I buy something or not is always a happy experience!

Mercury Goes Retrograde

Firstly I think I just fell in love with this shops name, very cool! Mercury Goes Retrograde is less into prom dress and more like cool slogan t-shirts. But that it not to say you cant find more feminine pieces! I have never left without picking something up! I got a lovely grey tweed blazer in there last week. Its so beautiful! The lady who works there is so sweet too! Its the perfect shop for a good leisurely rummage on a Saturday!

Samui is very much an upmarket boutique. It stocks a really exciting variety of designers such as Rag and Bone, Helmut Lang, MSGM, Peter Pilloto and Irish designer taking the world by storm Danielle Romeril. I have not yet bought anything here, but its very inspiring to have a look through.

Amity stocks vintage inspired clothing at quiet a reasonable prices. Its the sweetest shop to go into always full of bright colors! I don’t always see something that grabs me but  there’s always a lot of tea dresses and prints and some cute jewellery to look at!

Nash 19

This is where I had lunch last time I was in the city. I loved it! My mother often had lunch from their take out menu but had never actually sat down in there and as I was anxious to try it out that’s where we decided to have lunch! It was beautiful. I had chicken and pasta in a lemon cream sauce. Heaven! I think they had the friendliest staff of anywhere I have ever eaten. There is also a gallery in the back so after lunch we looked at the exhibition that was on at the moment.

Perry Street Market Cafe

Later in the day we went for desert in the Perry Street Market Cafe. I had the most decadent brownie ever! It was very rich yet seemed to melt in my mouth. I’m a bit of a brownie addict and this would rank quiet highly on my list! I really want to bring my brother and my boyfriend there next time we’re in Cork. They’d absolutely love it! As well as being a cafe it’s also a gourmet food shop. I bought Goji and Pear tea which is so tasty and also empty tea bags for putting loose tea leaves in! I had never seen these before and I freaked out a little. I love my tea but for going to college its too much hassle to bring loose tea leaves no matter how much I enjoy that tea. But now I can! It has seriously revolutionized my life.

So there are some of my favorite places to go in Cork city! If this post is popular I might do a part two at some point and maybe do little guides for other towns and cities I like! Until next time, peace and love, Isabel! xxx

What I Wore: My Graduation

Hello my lovlies! A few days ago I graduated from my Styling course with the LA College of Creative Arts! Oh my goodness how the months have flown! I loved every second of the course and made so many amazing  friends! I think I’ll do a whole review of the course  later for anyone who might be interested in signing up.

I wore a dress from Warehouse I bought for a wedding a few years ago and Ted Baker heels with rose gold hard wear I bought for a photo shoot and then decided to keep! Also tights from H&M, long sting of pearls are from a brand called Mai Pearls ad my pearl pendant necklace was made by my very talented mother!

It was so exciting to then put on the black hat and gown (even though it covered up my dress)! Our tutors Lorna Claire Weightman and Corina Gaffey handed out our diplomas and then there was a very inspiration speech by Darren Kennedy! We left on a high (helped by  the prosecco) and went for more drinks! It was such an amazing night and experience and I’m thoroughly glad I did it!

Look how chuffed I am!

Thank you everyone for reading! I’ll be back again soon, until then stay fabulous! xxx
